Rendering of the new state-of-the-art Game Room at SBU, which will be completed in fall of 2024.
St. Bonaventure's
varsity esports is a member of the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC).
SBU student-gamers have the opportunity to hone their skills in the NECC against other regionally located member schools.
Throughout the course of the regular season, our teams compete in conference play with the goal of posting a winning record in order to qualify for playoffs. Ultimately, our teams strive to win divisional, conference and grand finals championships.
Welcome to The Game Room
The varsity esports teams have a dedicated gaming space on the second floor of the university's Reilly Center. Known as The Game Room, the space is undergoing a state-of-the-art transformation that will be completed in fall of 2024.
The Game Room includes two Xbox One setups, two PS4 setups, two Nintendo Switch setups and 6 Intel Core i7-9700KF | GeForce RTX 2070 | 16 GB computers. All are available and free for any student to use.
There are varsity team practices and matches for Fortnite, Overwatch, Rainbow 6: Siege, Valorant and Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate.
Practices consist of video on demand (VOD) reviewing of professional players, detailed mechanical analysis and instruction, scrimmages against other schools, and occasional weightlifting and cardio workouts in the university's Richter Center fitness facility.
